Design Challenge
Each designer was assigned an American artist from the Whitney Museum and tasked with creating a look inspired by their life and work.
Our artist: Jean-Michel Basquiat.
The Trench Coat: hand-painted with printed silk lining, inspired by Basquiat’s SoHo memorial and his exploration of power and inequality.
The ‘mixed-media’ dress: The concept centered on Basquiat's exploration of power and inequality. Fabric selections were chosen to represent cultural hierarchies he dismantled.
Brand Book
For the final presentation to the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund judges panel, I created a brand book that embodied Jonathan Cohen's craftsmanship and artistry.
